Public Image Limited was on Late Nite with Jimmy Fallon on Monday, May 17, 2010. They played “Bags”/”Chant” for the on air performance. Catch it here (skip to 35:40 in the video).

PiL did a web exclusive performance of “Public Image”:

Public Image Limited was at the 9:30 Club in Washington D.C. on My 12, 2010. It was webcasted by NPR Music and a nifty little article was written about the band. Take it for what it’s worth. It seems to be written by someone without a fucking clue (as usual), leaving out a few facts that they tried to touch on and some misconstrued facts.

John Lydon - Public Image Limited - 05/12/2010 9:30 Club Washington, D.C.

But the gist of the article is that they played at the 9:30 Club & there’s a webcast that you can list to of the show (above the article).

I caught them last night at The Borgata’s The Music Box in Atlantic City. KILLER SHOW!

I’m not going to say stupid shit like some other blogger did as to why John Lydon from Public Image Limited didn’t get the chance to do his interview with Jimmy Kimmel during the regular airing of the show on 04/07/2010. (To the blogger: Where did you pull that excuse from? Lydon was on Jimmy Kimmel already being interviewed on stage during the show’s normal airing with the Sex Pistols.) So they talked after the band performed (2 clips below the 2 songs)

“Rise”

“This Is Not A Love Song”

Here are 2 clips from the interview:

Lounge singer Richard Cheese, the swankiest one around, and his band, Lounge Against the Machine, are giving away FREE CD’s to active-duty military personnel & veterans since 2000. Today they updated their site saying that the demand is overwhelming and new requests may not be fulfilled because they will probably run out of CDs.

Operation Cheesey Freedom

Why are they doing this? They state that they are running out of space in their warehouse, so instead of trying to sell all of these unsold CDs, they thought they’d just give them away to the most deserving people they know: the fine men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces.

Hurry up and get your order in! Supplies are very limited! All you need to do is follow the steps listed on Richard Cheese’s web site.

Thank you for serving to protect us & our country!

In case you missed it last week, TapulousTap Tap Revenge 3 iPhone app became a FREE app (down from $0.99). It’s still free and Tapulous has doubled the number of Premium music that you can pay, download, and play. Some good stuff too! And they’ll be adding more music too! What’s also good is that all Premium tracks have their own theme.

Here’s a list of the new Premium artists/bands that you can get:
Duran Duran, Motorhead, Lily Allen, Depeche Mode, Papa Roach, George Thorogood, Sublime, The Hives, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Elton John, David Guetta, LCD Soundsystem, Steve Miller Band, Ok Go!, Jackson 5, Spoon, Dashboard Confessional, Smash Mouth, Wolfmother, Evanescence, 30 Seconds To Mars, Fat Boy Slim, Keane, One Republic, Rascal Flatts, Thievery Corporation, War, Lifehouse, Jimmy Eat World, The Temper Trap, Silversun Pickups, Rush, Lady Antebellum, Flyleaf, Ingrid Michaelson, Schwayze, Steppenwolf, The Prodigy, Thriving Ivory, and New Kids On The Block.

TAP TAP REVENGE 3

Also, there’s a new system of achieving levels, in which you unlock awards, weapons, and music, and online features have been added including new weapons, shields and radar. There are still weapon-free rooms for those purists who just want to do skills-based online games.

Achievements have been enhanced with more challenging options rewarded with better prizes. You can also redeem coins in the store for avatar gear, weapons and music.

Unsurprisingly, a lot of new music has been added, including special channels for labels such as Big Sounds International, Black Hole Recordings, Bug Music, Downtown Records, Fearless Music, Nettwerk Records, Quango Records, Rocket Science, Ultra Records. You can download ten tracks for each of those labels, and play in their online rooms.

Tapulous says that they’re aware some people might be annoyed that they’ve spent $0.99 on what’s now a free game however and so it’s handing out special avatars to those players who’ve paid for the game. And it points out such users will be protected from the majority of the in-app ads that the players of the free app will view.

Here is Tapulous’ blog post on this topic.

Jon Stewart of Comedy Central’s The Daily Show is a big Public Image Limited (PiL)/John Lydon fan (that’s Johnny Rotten of The Sex Pistols if you didn’t know). He even had John Lydon on the show once. So when the time came to spoof the U.S. Health Care Reform Bill’s Public Option, Jon and his writing staff went for it. They used the logo from Public Image Limited and turned it into “Public Option Limited” on tonight’s show. I’m also a big fan of Public Image Limited (and of John Lydon’s solo stuff & The Sex Pistols) so I spotted this right away.

Dragon*ConTV’s first music video – a live action video for Jonathan Coulton’s “Re Your Brains”. The song is used at the end of the podcast for Sci-Fi Party Line #36 Zombieland, in which I was on.
