Twittelator Pro. It’s my choice over all of the other iPhone Twitter Apps. I’ve tried many other Twitter apps for the iPhone and I keep coming back to using Twittelator Pro. It’s the ONLY full-featured Twitter app out there for the iPhone.

I had tried out the free version when it first came out and I had my first iPhone (3G). I tried that and two other Twitter apps. Twittelator was very ugly and I didn’t understand it so I used the other apps I had. Eventually those other apps got on my nerves. A friend of mine told me to get the latest update of Twittelator Pro and that it had improved since I had first gotten it. She was right. It was improved and I was happy. I’ve used Twittelator Pro ever since. Of course it’s gone through some more improvements to make the app even better than before!

It was announced (late) yesterday that on TechCrunch that Tap Tap Revenge 3 was coming. Around 4pm EDT today, they retweeted an update to the original story stating that TTR3 was out. And it is. You might be shocked to find out that TTR3, unlike TTR1 & 2, is $0.99 in the App Store. But wait! There’s more! You can BUY a bundle of 6 tracks or 2 tracks form your favorite artist. This is “premium” content. I was a bit happy about this because they had a 2-track bundle of one of my favorite bands, Social Distortion (Far Behind & Story of My Life). I wished it was a 6-track bundle, but at least they’re there with a 2-track one. Which makes me think back to a few months ago when I suggested that Tapulous (makers of the Tap Tap Revenge group of iPhone games) make a version for Social Distortion. If only they would. Other bands include Blink 182, Fall Out Boy, Smashing Pumpkins, Foo Fighters, No Doubt, Tiesto, The Killers, Korn, Megadeth, QOTSA, Weezer, AAR, AFI, Keith Urban, Crystal Method, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. A 6-track bundle will cost you $2.99 and a 2-track bundle will hit your wallet for only $0.99. Not too bad. But wait! There’s even more! Don’t fret – there are over 130 FREE tracks that you can download too!

What else is in TTR3?

  • Improved online play, where you can SILENCE your opponents, throw GOO at them and much more. You can now also send private messages, browse user profiles, or chat while waiting for the next game to start.
  • Create your own unique avatar. Levels, points, and achievements give you status in the game, and also let you access exclusive game rooms and purchase special powers.
  • A fresh look and feel, plus many more features, including 90-second Quick Games and the popular instant game replay.

  • I’ve only played TTR3 a few times. I’ll get back to you for a possible review later. Get your own copy of it from the App Store!

I’ve been interested in geology as long as I can remember and I was amazed when I stumbled across this app on AppShopper.com. It’s called Iapetus from Quadrivium and it shows how the continents of Earth have moved around the planet for the past 600 million years. There are 29 different maps starting from 600 million years ago up to 100 million years into the future. The “detailed” maps are pretty good and you can see what the Earth looked like in every geologic period. You can watch the continents move in either a global view or map view when you rotate your iPhone to landscape mode.

The nice thing about the app is that while viewing the Earth as a globe (portrait) you can have our planet rotate, while viewing it as a map (landscape) you can animate the maps and watch as the continents drift apart and crash together. One thing you can’t do, or I haven’t seen yet, is the ability to zoom into the map. Overall, this app is great for any enthusiast of geology and it’s a steal right now in the App Store for free.
